ABOUT US

Who we are | A platform for truth

Kashmir Conflict is not a news service or a research institute. It is something more specific than either: an independent documentation and analysis platform dedicated to recording the full truth of the world's longest running unresolved conflict, from the only perspective that has consistently been denied a platform. A true Kashmiri one.

We believe that an informed public is not a passive one. Accurate documentation, rigorous analysis, and an unflinching commitment to the Kashmiri voice are not abstract virtues. They are the foundation of any honest reckoning with what has been, and continues to be, done to the people of Greater Kashmir.

Established in 2017, with roots stretching back to the earlier part of the 2010s, Kashmir Conflict has spent years documenting the world's longest running unresolved conflict: the occupation of Greater Kashmir, the land once governed as the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Our team of researchers, analysts, and field sources works to bring the most comprehensive and evidence-led coverage of the ongoing conflict, the indigenous resistance to it, and the realities of Indian military control in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

We believe that an informed public is essential. Not for a comfortable resolution that papers over the truth, but for an honest reckoning with what has been done to the Kashmiri people and what continues to be done. That is what drives this work.

Our core team is made up of individuals from Greater Kashmir itself, alongside others who have committed their time and expertise to this platform. Every member is a volunteer. This platform has been built from the ground up over many years, without institutional backing and without external direction, by people who carry a genuine stake in what is documented here. That is what makes our perspective what it is. A true Kashmiri one.

Kashmir Conflict is not affiliated with any government, political party, or armed organisation. We do not represent any external actor, and we do not express support for any state involved in the conflict. Our work is guided by the evidence, by Kashmiri testimony, and by the integrity of the record we are building.
