CASO LAUNCHED IN UDHAMPUR AFTER REPORTS OF SUSPICIOUS MOVEMENT AS OCCUPATION JUMPS AT EVERY SHADOW
ALLNEWS

A Cordon and Search Operation was launched in the Jophar area of Ramnagar in Udhampur district on 16 August 2026 following intelligence inputs about the movement of unspecified individuals in the area. Joint teams cordoned off the location and initiated searches. The operation was ongoing at the time of reporting with no confirmed contact or result.
Udhampur has now seen multiple CASOs launched in quick succession throughout 2026, including in Jophar, Tarkundi, and the broader Ramnagar belt, each triggered by inputs of suspicious movement that have produced no confirmed engagement. Across Indian-controlled Kashmir, the pattern is consistent and documented: a report of movement, a cordon, searches through forest and residential areas, and, in the overwhelming majority of cases, no confirmed result.
The occupation has deployed over a million personnel across Kashmir and remains so unnerved by the presence of a small number of resistance fighters that every reported movement triggers a multi-force mobilisation. That ratio is not the sign of a military apparatus confident in its dominance. It is the sign of one that knows the resistance can appear anywhere, at any time, inside any perimeter it constructs. The CASO in Jophar is the institutional expression of that fear. It will very likely produce nothing. The next one will be launched anyway.
