CASOs launched across Udhampur, Reasi, and Kathua after two individuals knock on a door and ask for food

Indian forces launched search operations across three districts of Indian-controlled Kashmir on 18 August 2026 following reports of suspicious movement. The trigger in Udhampur: two individuals wearing shawls knocked on the door of a resident in Talot village late at night asking for food, received no response, and walked away toward the Khuban area. The resident then alerted police. Joint CRPF and police teams were deployed across the area. Simultaneously, separate search operations were launched in the Sadini forests of Reasi and in villages near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua.
Two people knocked on a door in Talot village and asked for something to eat. The Indian regime's response was a multi-district, multi-force deployment across Udhampur, Reasi, and Kathua. That ratio, of the full apparatus of military occupation mobilised by two figures asking for food in the dark, is the most precise measure available of how deeply the resistance has embedded itself in the consciousness of the forces attempting to suppress it. The occupation is afraid of its own shadows. In Kashmir, those shadows sometimes carry rifles. The Indian regime cannot tell the difference until it is too late.
