Initial reporting on the killing of a Kashmiri man in Doda district produced conflicting accounts, with some reports framing the incident as a cow smuggling killing and others as a rifle-snatching encounter in Bhaderwah. Kashmir Conflict can now confirm these were not separate incidents. They were the same killing, with the Indian regime's apparatus generating contradictory accounts to confuse the public record, obscure accountability, and delay organised response.

The Indian regime has imposed restrictions to suppress the demonstrations and has kept internet services suspended across the region to prevent further organisation and to stop information from reaching the outside world.
