National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has declared that he will continue to fight for the restoration of Kashmir's constitutional rights as he and fellow installed political figures depart for New Delhi to participate in the NC-led protest demanding statehood restoration.

Kashmir Conflict states the record plainly. Farooq Abdullah and his party have governed Indian-controlled Kashmir under multiple administrations across decades. During those administrations, the Indian regime steadily extended its control over the territory, progressively eroded Kashmiri autonomy, expanded AFSPA's reach, and built the administrative and legal infrastructure that made the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A achievable in 2019. The NC did not merely fail to prevent these outcomes. Its governance provided the legitimising framework within which they became possible.

Farooq Abdullah is now travelling to Delhi to protest the loss of rights his party's collaboration helped strip away. The protest is a photograph. The record is a document. Kashmiris can read both.
