Five CRPF personnel injured as forces vehicle collides with truck on Jammu-Srinagar highway at Qazigund

Five CRPF personnel were injured after their vehicle collided with a truck near the Levdura area of Qazigund on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the early hours of 18 August 2026. The injured, identified as Inspector Raj Kumar Tiwari, SI Rajinder Singh, ASI Lovenday, ASI Umesh Kumar, and Head Constable Driver Virender, were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions are being monitored.
The Qazigund stretch of the NH-44 corridor through South Kashmir has been the site of multiple vehicle incidents involving Indian forces this year. The highway carries an enormous and sustained volume of military convoy traffic, in addition to civilian and commercial vehicles, across terrain and in conditions that produce a consistent pattern of accidents that the Indian regime addresses individually rather than as a systemic operational risk. Five personnel injured in a single collision. The highway they were travelling on was built primarily to serve military movement through Kashmiri land. It is doing so at a cost that accumulates daily.
