Indian Army Chief visits Western Command and calls for constant vigilance as Pir Panjal security tightened

Indian Army Chief of Staff General Dhiraj Seth visited the Western Command headquarters in Jammu on 11 August 2026, reviewing the operational preparedness of the Rising Star Corps, which covers the Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts. He was briefed on the evolving security environment, technology absorption initiatives, and capability enhancement measures. General Seth alleges the need for constant synergised vigilance and battle readiness at all times in response to emerging security challenges.
Separately, security has been tightened across the Pir Panjal range in Rajouri and Poonch ahead of 15 August, with additional forces deployed across key routes, forward posts reinforced, and movement restrictions tightened across civilian areas in the belt.

The Pir Panjal, where Indian forces spent over forty consecutive days failing to locate PAFF fighters earlier this year, is being reinforced. The Indian regime's security posture in the Jammu belt continues to expand. The resistance it is designed to suppress continues to operate.
