Indian forces assaulted multiple Kashmiri women and ransacked residential properties during a Cordon and Search Operation in Pulwama district, barging into homes, damaging property, and physically attacking women in the process. Kashmir Media Service reports that the women sustained injuries during the assault. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the attack, stating that the targeting of Kashmiri women during military operations is a documented and deliberate instrument of terror used by Indian forces to intimidate and collectively punish Kashmiri communities.
The APHC states that such actions are not isolated incidents of misconduct. They are a consistent feature of how Indian forces conduct CASOs across Indian-controlled Kashmir, entering homes without warning, assaulting those present, and destroying property with the full protection of AFSPA ensuring no meaningful accountability follows. Kashmiri women bear a disproportionate share of the violence inflicted during military raids on their homes. The Indian regime alleges its forces operate within lawful rules of engagement. The women of Pulwama, injured in their own homes today, state otherwise.
