Indian forces bar Kashmiris from Friday prayers in Pakherpora as occupation disrupts worship and then denies it

Kashmiri residents in the Pakherpora area of Budgam district state that Friday Jumuah prayers were disrupted at multiple mosques during a Cordon and Search Operation, with Indian forces barring people from attending congregational prayers due to movement restrictions imposed across the area. Locals state that worshippers were actively prevented from reaching mosques during the operation.

The Indian regime alleges the disruptions were minimal and that the reports were exaggerated. Kashmiris in the area state the opposite.

Kashmir Conflict sides with Kashmiri testimony. The Indian regime has a documented and consistent history of disrupting religious gatherings, sealing mosques, and imposing movement restrictions that prevent Kashmiris from attending Friday prayers, under the pretext of CASOs and security operations. The same regime that facilitated over 400,000 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims with the full protection of the Indian state prevented Kashmiri Muslims from walking to their local mosque for Friday prayers. That is not a coincidence. It is policy.
