ALLNEWS

Indian forces opened fire on a Scorpio SUV that failed to stop at a checkpoint in Chanderkote on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at approximately 3:30 am on 7 August 2026. The vehicle, travelling from Srinagar toward Jammu, did not stop despite three rounds being fired by police. A joint search operation involving Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and Indian Army units was immediately launched across the surrounding area. The vehicle was subsequently located near Dalwas, and the driver was apprehended on the Dalwas Link Road. Other occupants, if any, had fled the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances and motive behind the checkpoint evasion.
The Indian regime alleges the incident raised alerts on a highway critical to Amarnath Yatra pilgrim movement. The driver has been detained. The investigation is ongoing. Kashmir Conflict will update as verified information about the identity of the occupants and the nature of the incident becomes available.
