Indian forces launch CASO in Pouni, Reasi, after reported movement of three resistance fighters

Indian forces have launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the Pouni area of Reasi district following intelligence inputs alleging the movement of three Kashmiri resistance fighters in the area. Army, CRPF, and SOG units have been deployed across the terrain. No contact has been confirmed and no further details are available at the time of reporting.

Reasi has seen a gradual increase in resistance-related activity across 2026, with the district sitting within the broader Jammu region belt that has experienced sustained operational tempo from Rajouri and Poonch through to Kathua and Udhampur. The Indian regime alleges inputs of this nature are intelligence-led and targeted. The consistent pattern across the year is that the overwhelming majority of CASOs launched on such inputs produce no confirmed result. Whether this operation follows that pattern or develops further remains to be seen. Kashmir Conflict will update as verified information becomes available.
