Two non-local Indian labourers from Chhattisgarh were shot at a brick kiln in the Kulgam area of Indian-controlled Kashmir. Both were admitted to hospital, with one subsequently succumbing to his injuries. Indian forces have launched a CASO across the area to locate those responsible.

No resistance organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of reporting. Channels associated with TRF and Kashmiri resistance networks shared news of the incident without attribution. Whether this was a targeted resistance operation against Indian settlers and their associated networks, an act of personal enmity, or something else entirely remains unconfirmed. Kashmir Conflict will not speculate on responsibility where none has been established and will update as verified information becomes available.

Unelected Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has used the incident to call for the intensification of anti-resistance operations across Indian-controlled Kashmir. This is the predictable response: before the facts of an incident are established, the Indian regime reaches for the pretext it always reaches for. More operations. More pressure. More collective punishment. The formula does not change regardless of what has actually occurred.
