Indian men from Haryana caught harassing Kashmiri girls in Srinagar as emboldened behaviour reaches residential areas

A video circulating widely on social media shows three Indian men travelling in a vehicle registered in Haryana being confronted by Kashmiri residents in the Rajbagh area of Srinagar after they were filmed harassing and ogling Kashmiri girls in the street. Locals intervened directly, challenging the men over their conduct.
Kashmir Conflict states the context this incident sits within. The harassment of Kashmiri women and girls by Indian men is not a new phenomenon. Since 1989, the Indian military occupation established the template: Kashmiri women treated as objects by armed forces operating with the total impunity that AFSPA guarantees. What has changed since 2019 is the expansion of that behaviour beyond uniformed personnel. As the Indian regime floods Kashmir with Indian nationals under the banner of tourism, labour, and demographic restructuring, the conduct documented among Indian forces has been replicated by the civilian Indian men arriving in their wake, emboldened by the same military presence that has always shielded this behaviour from consequence.
The men in Rajbagh had a vehicle registered in Haryana. They drove it through a residential area of Srinagar and harassed its women. They did so in a city garrisoned by one of the largest military deployments on earth, under an occupation that has never treated the protection of Kashmiri women from Indian men as a priority. Kashmiris who confronted them did what the occupation's apparatus has never done. They held them to account.
