Indian regime compensates Insha Mushtaq 41 lakh rupees (£31,980) for blinding her with a pellet gun ten years after the fact

The Indian regime has compensated Insha Mushtaq, the Kashmiri girl who was blinded in both eyes by pellet gun fire in 2016 while walking to school, with approximately 41 lakh rupees (£31,980). She was eight years old when she was shot. She is now a young adult who has spent her formative years without sight.
Kashmir Conflict states what this compensation represents and what it does not. It is not accountability. No Indian forces personnel has been charged, prosecuted, or convicted for shooting Insha Mushtaq in the face with a pellet gun on her way to school. The compensation is a financial settlement paid by a state that has simultaneously refused to ban the weapon that blinded her, refused to prosecute those who fired it, and continued to deploy pellet guns against Kashmiri protesters for a decade after she lost her eyes.
41 lakh rupees. Ten years after the fact. For a lifetime of blindness caused by a weapon the Indian regime deployed against civilians in the full knowledge of what it does to human eyes. The Indian regime has put a price on Insha Mushtaq's sight. It has not put anyone in a cell for taking it.
