Indian regime demolishes homes of Adil Thokar and Haroon Rashid Ganaie for second time in collective punishment following Islamabad operation

In the dead of night following the resistance operation in Islamabad, the Indian regime demolished the homes of two Kashmiri men, Adil Thokar of Guri, Bijbehara, Anantnag, and Haroon Rashid Ganaie of Hassanpora, Anantnag. Both families were forced out without their belongings before their homes were blown up.
These were not first demolitions. Both homes had previously been destroyed by the Indian regime following the Pahalgam attack earlier this year. Both families rebuilt. The Indian regime has now demolished them a second time.
The UN explicitly prohibits collective punishment under the Fourth Geneva Convention. The demolition of a family's home, for the second time, in the middle of the night, because of their perceived connection to a resistance operation they did not conduct, is not a security measure. It is a war crime. It is the Indian regime's answer to one resistance fighter's successful operation: destroy the homes of Kashmiris who share his district. Blow them up twice if necessary.
The Indian regime has simultaneously issued a high alert across Indian-controlled Kashmir following the Islamabad operation. Kashmir Conflict states the question the high alert raises: what was the one million-strong militarised presence already in place for, if not to prevent exactly this? The answer the Indian regime cannot give is that no level of militarisation eliminates a resistance rooted in a population that the occupation has given every possible reason to resist. Searches, raids, and arrests continue across the territory. The homes of two Kashmiri families have been reduced to rubble twice. The resistance that prompted the demolitions remains operational.
