Indian regime intensifies Kashmir-wide security operations ahead of imposed 15 August celebrations as CASOs and checkpoints surge

Indian forces across Indian-controlled Kashmir have intensified checkpoints, patrols, searches, and Cordon and Search Operations ahead of 15 August 2026, Indian Independence Day, as the Indian regime implements heightened surveillance and security measures to manage what it intends to present as a celebration of Indian nationhood across a territory that has never consented to Indian rule.
Senior Indian forces commanders have conducted meetings reviewing security arrangements, crowd management protocols, and media coverage frameworks for the occasion. The operational translation of those meetings is already visible across the territory: increased naka points on major roads, additional footpatrols in civilian areas, surprise vehicle searches, and CASOs launched in multiple districts under the pretext of pre-emptive security.
15 August in Indian-controlled Kashmir is not celebrated by Kashmiris. It is imposed. The Indian regime requires its occupation's anniversary to be marked by a population that did not choose this state, does not accept it, and must be surrounded by intensified military presence simply to be made to appear normal in the photographs the Indian regime takes of the occasion.
