Indian regime seizes ten Kashmiri homes in Srinagar worth Rs 8 crore (£624,000) under anti-drug campaign

Indian regime police in Srinagar have attached ten immovable residential properties worth approximately 8 crore rupees (£624,000) across the Nowhatta, Hawal, Rainawari, and Qamarwari areas of the city under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan. All ten properties are residential homes belonging to Kashmiri families. The attachments have been carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act on the basis of police allegations alone, without prior judicial determination of guilt.
The ten properties range in value from 55 lakh rupees (£42,900) to 95 lakh rupees (£74,100) each, comprising double, triple, and four-storey residential homes housing Kashmiri families across central Srinagar neighbourhoods. Several of the FIRs cited in connection with the attachments date back as far as 2005, 2006, and 2013, raising serious questions about why properties are being seized in 2026 in connection with cases registered over a decade ago, and what judicial process, if any, has been applied in the intervening years.
Ten Kashmiri families have lost their homes in Srinagar today on the word of police alone. The Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan has now been running for over 100 days. The total value of properties seized or demolished across Indian-controlled Kashmir continues to grow past 200 crore rupees (£15.6 million). No court has determined guilt before a single one of those properties was taken.
