Indian regime upholds PSA detention of 25-year-old Kashmiri youth from Tral despite absence of any evidence

The Indian regime has upheld the Public Safety Act detention of Sakib Akbar Waza, 25 years old, from Gulshanpora, Tral, confirming his continued imprisonment without charge or trial on the basis of allegations the Indian regime has not substantiated with any publicly available evidence. His detention has been reviewed and endorsed by the same administrative apparatus that ordered it.
Tral has been one of the most consistently targeted areas in Indian-controlled Kashmir under the Indian regime's security operations, with its residents facing repeated PSA detentions, CASOs, and political persecution across decades. Sakib Akbar Waza is 25 years old. He has been imprisoned under legislation that Amnesty International states is a lawless law, requiring no court approval, no evidence presented to a judge, and no meaningful right of appeal. His detention has now been upheld in a review conducted without independent oversight.
The PSA does not detain people for crimes. It detains people for existing in ways the Indian regime finds inconvenient. A 25-year-old from Tral speaking against the injustice of occupation is, for the Indian regime, precisely that.
