Internet restored in Bhaderwah and Doda areas after 4 days of blackout following Aarif Hussain's murder

Internet services have been restored across Bhaderwah and surrounding areas of Doda district after being suspended for approximately eleven days following the killing of Aarif Hussain by Indian forces on 18 July 2026. The blackout was imposed by the Indian regime in the immediate aftermath of the killing to prevent the organisation of protests and to suppress the flow of information about the incident to the outside world.
The restoration of services does not restore what the blackout suppressed. Four days of severed communications across an entire district, imposed to contain public anger over a killing the Indian regime has still not been held accountable for, is not a proportionate security measure. It is the Indian regime's standard instrument for managing the information environment around its own crimes. The internet is restored when the immediate pressure subsides. The killing that triggered the blackout remains uninvestigated by any independent body. Aarif Hussain's family is still waiting for justice that the Indian regime has given no indication it intends to deliver.
