NSG commandos, CRPF, CISF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Civil Defence personnel conducted a joint “anti-fidayeen” mock drill at the Banganga base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra on 11 August 2026, ahead of the 15 August Independence Day celebrations. The exercise covered crowd management, evacuation procedures, rapid response scenarios, and coordinated intervention protocols across the shrine complex and surrounding areas.

The Indian regime conducts “anti-fidayeen” drills at religious sites ahead of 15 August. It suppresses Kashmiri commemorations of 5 August. It bans Kashmiri Muslim congregational prayers on Eid at their own mosques for the eighth consecutive year while facilitating Hindu pilgrimages and now rehearsing security responses at Hindu shrines ahead of Independence Day celebrations that Kashmiris do not observe willingly.

The pattern of whose religious spaces are secured and whose are sealed is not incidental. It is policy, and it is visible in every drill the Indian regime conducts and every mosque it locks.
