Police head constable critically injured after tractor strikes him at checkpoint in Jammu and flees

A police head constable, Jai Pal Singh, posted at Police Station Bakshi Nagar in Jammu, was critically injured on 11 August 2026 after a tractor struck him while he was on checkpoint duty in Bakshi Nagar area and fled without stopping. He was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu and subsequently referred to a private hospital given the severity of his injuries. Police have registered a case and launched efforts to trace the tractor driver.
A vehicle struck an Indian regime police officer at a naka checkpoint and fled.
