Six IEDs and ammunition recovered from hideout in Surankote, Poonch, as Pir Panjal belt remains operationally active

A joint operation by the Indian Army's 16 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG Bufliaz, and 38 Battalion CRPF in the Draba area of Surankote, Poonch, on 15 August 2026 resulted in the alleged recovery of six IEDs comprising one “gamla-type” device, one gool-type device, and four smaller IEDs, alongside a Motorola wireless set and seven rounds of AK-47 ammunition from an aged alleged resistance hideout. Search operations in the area are continuing.
